Subject:OH MY FUCKING GAWD AN UPDATE OH FUCK
Time:11:51 am
Current Mood:[mood icon] chipper
Woooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooo, mother fuckers! That's right, I'm back! I know it's been a super long time since I've posted anything even remotely close to an update around these parts, but now that school is finally over with for the time being and I'm not at work so I don't have to worry about an autistic kid crawling all over me at random intervals throughout the day, I think it would be a great time to do an update. Don't you agree? Yeah, you fucking better.

1) Driving
Just to let everyone know, this update is going to be a pretty positive one for the most part, so let's get the negative crap out of the way right at the start. Yes, I still cannot drive and probably won't be able to until at least October, so at least six months away. So yeah, it sucks, but what can you do? Well, yeah, I guess obey more traffic laws is one thing, but I mean in the meantime. Not really a whole lot. Yes, it's extremely inconvenient for everyone involved. But if there is a positive side to it, it does give me a chance (even for a little bit) to see a lot of my friends and family that I would normally be too busy to see otherwise. So if there's anything that positive about it, I would have to say it's that. Could certainly be a lot worse.

2) Wendy
Ok, now that all that crap is out of the way, let's move along to more positive things. Wendy and I are still doing great AND it's coming up on a couple years now! She is a fantastic gal who I love very much. I never really know what to put in this category and people always give me shit about it. I should just punch them in the face next time I see them.

3) School
Yesterday, I had graduated from the EMT program and received all my certifications and all that crap (updated CPR, HazMat, etc.), now I just have to take the National Registry stuff. Unfortunately, I still have to take a summer class and then continue on to Paramedics in the fall. Oh well, it's nice to finally get a victory academic-wise for once. I'm excited about it and I know Paramedics is going to be even more crazy than EMT was, so I'm definitely going to need to MAN UP~!!! and be ready for it.

4) Wrestling House Show
Oh, I have to tell this story! It was awesome! So a couple nights ago, Matt and I went to a WWE Raw house show in East Lansing. We had second row tickets and it was pretty badass being that close. At one point, Ashley came out and asked if anyone could answer her question. So like a crazy man, I was flailing my arms and shouting, "Right here! Right here! Meeeeeeee!". And then, holy shit... She actually did! The question was simple enough. "Who is undefeated at Wrestlemania?" After getting pumped by the crowd for a second, I gave her the answer, which is of course, "The Undertaker". So I won the chance to be the guest time keeper at ringside for the next match of Hardcore Holly vs. a repackaged Nicky (of the Spirit Squad)! It was pretty fucking awesome, to say the least. Got to talk to Ashley for a little bit (she's much more tiny in real life than I had expected), Tony Chimmel (the ring announcer) is the fucking man and an all around nice guy, and I got to ring the bell at the start and end of the match and hold Hardcore Holly's Tag Title bet. Now, you see, whenever I would see someone hit someone else with the championship belt on a wrestling show, I would always think, "That's fucking retarded". But now I understand why because those belts are FUCKING HEAVY AS HELL. They weigh a lot more than they look! So yeah, I got to be a part of the action for a little bit, which was insanely awesome.

Some other awesome moments included:
-Seeing Santino Marella ramble on about the Spartans and Super Crazy coming out to the ring with SOME WOMAN.
-Watching JTG come up to this little black kid in front of us and start doing the Superman and saying to him "C'mon playa! C'mon playa!"
-JBL's super drawn out "I am not amused" expression.
-Shouting "UUUUUUMMMMAAAAAAGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" at the top of our lungs and having him turn and look at us with this total "wtf" expression on his face.
-Complementing Trevor Murdoch on his sideburns and getting a "Thanks" in response.
-Slapping hands with Triple H and Michaels after their match.

5) Wrestling in General
Aside from that experience above, wrestling has been pretty good for the most part. I do like Matt Hardy finally winning the US Title, Trevor Murdoch's singing abilities, and CM Punk winning the Money in the Bank. It seems that lately, WWE has been doing more entertaining things than not, which definitely wasn't the case before Wrestlemania. TNA seems to be spinning it's wheels to the point where it's just digging the hole they're in deeper than ever. I can't believe I'm saying this but I absolutely did not even care when Samoa Joe finally won the title due to TNA's retarded insanity. We went to another Ring of Honor show last month that was just ok, really. I think the atmosphere was definitely hampered by the fact that we were like almost an hour and a half late due to a random traffic jam in Detroit. It didn't help that the main event between Age of the Fall and The Motor City Machine Guns was just a lot of shitty kicking and endless amounts of super kicks. Oh well. Another show's coming up in July, which I would like to check out. We'll see what happens, though.

6) Comics
I've been having more time to read at work lately, so I've been catching up on some trades that I missed the first time around. I read Marvel's Annihilation series and that was really fucking good. 52 also washed the horrible taste in my mouth that "Infinite Crisis" left behind. Also, since they were only about $8 per mini-trade, I checked out the first 7 arcs of Runaways, which is also great because Brian K. Vaughn can do no wrong in my eyes. Speaking of creators who can do no wrong, Ed Brubaker could possibly be my new favorite writer. Captain America is still fucking great and I started reading Criminal, which is probably one of the best books I have ever read. It's all just stand alone crime stories that excel in painting the main characters as total bastards but real people as well. The guy at Clem's also recommended to me DMZ, which is a Vertigo book about New York City being separated from the US government after a civil war and an intern from a news station getting stuck in the "DMZ" to do his story in an extremely volatile culture. The first trade was ok, but the second one was awesome. I'll definitely be checking out as it goes on. A ton of the books I've been reading are coming along quite nicely as well. Immortal Iron Fist wrapped up their martial arts tournament story arc quite well, The Walking Dead just went completely bat-shit insane in the last issue (but in a totally good way), the new Thor series is great, and Bendis' Avengers titles are still as well written as they've ever been. There's just so much good stuff in comics right now that I will probably be typing this section out forever. Bottom line, there's so much good shit on shelves right now that you have no reason not to be reading right now.

7) Video Games
So Grand Theft Auto 4 finally came out. Heath picked it up and I've been playing it a little bit just to see what the fuss is all about. My official opinion stands as... it's ok. Some of the story stuff is nice, but the controls are still excessively complicated for the most part, especially when shooting and ducking for cover and all that shit. And I'm not the kind of person who gets off on just driving my car into people for hours on end, so I get bored playing it quite fast. I also started seriously playing the Wii for like, the first time ever when Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out. But after unlocking all of the characters through the Adventure Mode, I had really no reason to ever play it again since Nintendo's online system is shit and the controls are still complete crap, even with this being the third installment of the series. Jim let me borrow Heavenly Sword for the PS3 and after spending a bit more time with it, I can still chalk it up to being "not as good as God of War". Man, I just really can't wait for Ninja Gaiden 2 to come out. In the meantime, I guess I'll just keep going with City of Heroes. "Destroyher" has some smashin' to do to get a higher threat level!

8) DVD/TV
Ok, admittedly, I watch most of my TV on DVD. Unless it's The Office, of course. Man, I loooooooooove The Office.... Russ recently got me to finally start watching 30 Rock, which I must say is really good. It's funnier than hell and just so fucking weird and crazy sometimes. At this point in time, I would say that NBC probably has the best ever line-up of shows in history with The Office, 30 Rock, and Scrubs all on the same night. A little while ago too, I watched the whole first season of Human Giant, which is just so ridiculously funny that I was literally lollin' during every episode. The Space Lords should be the villains of the next Superman movie.

9) Role-Playing Game
Recently, I proposed an idea to our group that each member of the group take turns with the GM-ing duties and come up with a storyline and crap for the other players to play out. Well, since I suggested it, I will be the one going first. Now, I'm ok with this because I have a story-arc that I think will be pretty cool and shouldn't last that long either. So basically a perfect way to get my feet wet, so to speak. It'll also give the guys a chance to mix it up with new characters, if they wish, and our old GM a chance to play as a player character as well. I won't reveal any details here since some of the players in the group could potentially read this and have it spoiled for them. So all I'm going to say is that I'm looking forward to the opportunity this coming Sunday and I hope it turns out to be fun for everybody!

10) Work
To close things out, I'll end on another positive note. I just crossed the two-year mark at CBI and received yet another raise! I'm very happy about that and even happier to hear that my boss was extremely happy with my work. Now I definitely have my short-comings, like anyone else, but it's nice to hear that "Hey, you're doing alright" every once in a while. I know I won't be able to stay at CBI forever, but I don't really plan on leaving any time soon. And as much as he drives me nuts sometimes, I love working with Justin and have no problem taking him for the whole day if I have to. Working with him is like nothing else I've done before and it's great. So I plan to do it as long as they need me to.

Welp, that's the end of the line here, folks. We're pulling into our stop and don't forget to tip your waitstaff on the way out. The coming days should be exciting with The Office season finale, The Red-Bull Air Race in Detroit in June, and summer classes all coming up. So it should be a pretty good summer. I hope everyone has a great summer as well, since I probably won't get around to updating this shit until after Christmas or something again. Peace out, niggas!

It's pretty simple, really. Just reply with your answers and I'll let you know if you're right or wrong. Here's the guidelines:

1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search or other search functions.

That is all.

Wow, Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment just a little while ago. Crazy.

What does this mean for The Dark Knight? I'm guessing probably nothing.

Subject:More Ring of Honor!
Time:01:22 am
Ring of Honor is holding another event in Detroit on April 25th. It seemed to be a pretty big hit with people last time we went, so I figured why not do it again?

It's alright, you broke mutha fuckas. We're all going, I just made sure of it. As a Christmas present for everyone this year, I just bought 8 more 2nd row tickets for the event. You can thank me later.

Greeting: Salutations, meatbags! It's me, it's me, it's GB. I'm back again with another one of those wonderful bi-monthly updates that everyone has come to love so dearly. There's been some up, there's been some downs, so hopefully this will make it an interesting read for once. Just like in real life, I'm going to skip the foreplay and get down to the underwhelming business and start the countdown.

1) LAW
As everyone has probably known by now, I had a less then favorable run in with the law. I'm not going to dive in too deep here (since I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be in my best interest to do so, you know, just in case), but I'll just say that on my way to class, I was busted, cuffed, and thrown in a genuine Ingham County jail cell for a fan-fucking-tastic couple of hours for reasons that should be pretty damn obvious to everyone already. We hit up a magistrate a few days ago and got a trial date down the road. I followed Jake's advice (I was pretty desperate) and so far, the guy seems to know his legal shit. You might think it's because he's a hotshot law student in the making, but it's actually because of the legal troubles he went through for having all those underage Vietnamese kids chained up in his basement.

2) WENDY
People seem to question whether I actually like her since every time I mention her in one of these damn LiveJournal things, I always devote just like, two sentences to her. Well, you know what? AT LEAST SHE GETS HER OWN HEADING, YOU ASSHOLES. How's that piss taste in your cereal?! :c00l: But yeah, I like Wendy and I'm glad she puts up with my crap. Yay!

3) SCHOOLING
I have officially begun to venture down the road of becoming an EMT in the future. This is my first semester of actual EMT classes and so far I totally dig it. This could very well be the calling that I've been meaning to fulfill for quite some time now and I'm really looking forward to seeing how things turn out for the long run. Sure, I've fucked up a handful of times already, like completely choking on Infant Airway Obstruction practicals and almost, uh, dropped a couple people tied to stretchers, but it's going well for the most part! Jim has the same math class and the same Medical First Responder class that I do and he has been a big help. He's been helping me remember all the mountains of crap that need to be pounded into my head and checking to make sure I'm not slipping up in math class. Jim has been such a big help and it's so very much appreciated! Thanks Jim!

4) WORK
Same old, same old, honestly. Things have been made more difficult due to events tied directly into events in heading number 1, but actually being there is still ok. Like right now, for instance. I am CURRENTLY at work for an overnight shift and am CURRENTLY using The Internet. Aside from that, I did get a bit of a raise after being here a year and a half now and my boss is actually pretty nice to me, which makes me relieved after hearing about what some of my other coworkers go through with her. I just hope it doesn't build up to a point where she explodes at me for fucking up something and then I pay for it by having to fight Undertaker and Kane in handicap matches every week until the Pay-Per-View where my Cruiserweight title will be on the line in a match that I have no possible odds of winning. So in the meantime, I guess I'll just keep doing what I am doing, which is basically just being a sexy beast. But I usually do that for everything.

5) GAMES
Played through Bioshock a little while back. It was super fucking sweet and so far, holds my Game of the Year honor. Played through Halo 3 also. It too was great, although a bit easy for my tastes. Jim and I started a multiplayer campaign and I forgot how fun it is to jump on the gun of a Warthog and shooting the living shit out of everything while Jim is peeling out all over the place behind the wheel. Currently though, I've also reactivated my City of Heroes account and have been playing that as well. Unfortunately, Captain Carlman hasn't been able to get into too much action (since nobody plays on the Triumph server anymore), so a new character by the name of "Sick Shot" has been crafted. His back-story is he was a former extreme sports athlete who had his hands crippled during a sick stunt and had robot hands grafted to his body. Using his new-found powers and trusty bow and arrows, he stopped a robbery at the Paragon City X-Games and decided this would be his official entry into the world of crimefighting. So if anyone happens to be on the Guardian server, drop Sick Shot a line and we'll see about teaming up to shoot badguys in the face with pointy sticks!

6) COMICS
For some reason, the latest World War Hulk issues are taking fucking forever to come out, so not too much has happened there. Immortal Iron Fist just keeps getting better with every issue and it's my new "can't miss" book. I also picked up the hardcover trades of Marvel Zombies which is fucking weird and Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness, which is even weirder. I am eagerly awaiting the next Invincible issue, which is already overdue while strangely, The Walking Dead (by the same writer) had like, 3 issues come over the course of a month. Also, the new Thor series isn't too bad. I've only read the first two issues so far and it's actually been alright. So yeah, it's been a pretty good couple of months for comics.

7) TELEVISION
I replaced the "Movies" category with this since honestly, I haven't really seen any movies lately. I kept forgetting there's a DVR in the front room to record shows in mother fucking Hi-Def, so eventually I remembered to set it to record The Office every week. After finally seeing the finale of Season 3 on DVD, I knew that I couldn't miss it now. I, for one, am totally happy to see Jim and Pam together and could never understand why certain people wanted Jim and Karen to stay together. Wtf, mate? They're idiots. The last season of Scrubs starts up later on next week, so I'll probably have to give that show the same treatment with a Hi-Def recording since it's still one of my favorite all-time shows ever. I bought Heroes Season 1 on DVD like, almost 2 months ago now and haven't even bothered to watch it yet. I'm sure I'll get around to checking it out, unlike Battlestar Galactica which I'm sure I will never ever watch because of the lack of pro-wrestling moves, random kidnappings of pizza delivery boys, and the groin hits of America's Funniest Home Videos. So, sorry Jim and sorry Sci-Fi Channel. I'd still rather watch ECW.

8) WRESTLING
Back in September, a big crew of us drove down to the dirty D and checked out Ring of Honor: Motor City Mayhem live. It was fucking awesome and I think I can seriously speak for everyone, since hell, they're all reading this anyway. Being second row was so awesome and being next to the action was incredible. I made sure to stand out by wearing my ECW shirt and Pink Fuzzy Hat(tm), which I will be totally looking for when the DVD comes out on ROH's site soon. As far as other wrestling action, it was getting kinda gay with, once again, Cena and all the other random top faces just absolutely crushing all heels in their path multiple times over to the point where they wouldn't pose a credible threat to Funaki of all people. I'm guessing by now that Double Double E will never realize that a good hero character is only as strong as his villain. But now, with Cena's injury, things are actually kind of looking up now. I mean, yeah, Smackdown! is still really shitty to watch, but RAW has gotten more interesting with Orton taking the belt, Shawn Michaels superkicking his way back into action, and Jericho's possible return within the next few weeks. I hate to say it, but Cena getting injured was probably the best thing for them. It sucks that Cena the guy got hurt, but Cena the character was already so fucking stale that he desperately needed to take a break from action. We'll see how things go now that the main event has a chance to be fresh again.

9) HURRICANE
Yeah, he still poops everywhere and still scratches at my face in the whee hours of the morning to get up and take him outside so he can poop some more. I just had no idea what else to put here. Man, that dog sure does poop alot, though.

10) FUTURE
Well, here's hoping that my legal issues go smoothly and I can continue to do well in my EMT classes. World Way Hulk better wrap up with something fabulous and not something retarded and that Orton overcomes the REAL odds of becoming a credible champion and not just a belt pillow for DA MARINE John Cena. For the first time in a while, the future looks like it could actually be unpredictable. Scary, but still refreshing at the same time. Nice.

THERE! That's it, kiddos! Another flash in the pan LJ update posted for everyone. Hope you enjoyed and became even just a little bit enlightened. If so, then I've done my job. If not, well, it'll be called "everything else I've told you in my life ever". No big. See ya'll down the road called "Life"!

Subject:FAT AND BI-MONTHLY SPOTLIGHT 10 UPDATE
Time:07:59 am
Hey kids. It's "that guy" again, GB888 (that would be me), and he's back with another wonderful update since EVERYONE'S updating their shit. Well, actually, the only people who updated were Jim and Jake. But hell, whatever. I needed to update this thing anyway, so let's get started. It's going to be the typical Spotlight 10 format made popular by Russell "Big Daddy B" Beleski. They seem to be pretty effective at getting the info across and it seems to be popular with the kids these days.

1) GENERAL LIFE
Things have been going alright for the most part. Some moments have really fucking sucked (read on to find out what exactly those are) and others haven't been too bad (again, keep reading). My birthday comes up on Tuesday, the 7th and I am going to be a wonderful 25 years old. Hey, woohoo. Not much is really planned, other than I plan on hitting as many places were I can probably scoop up as much free food as possible. Yeah, REALLY amazing plans, huh? But aside from that, the day after, Wendy and I are going to be going on a three day excursion possibly in the UP somewhere, but that remains to be seen. I'm sure it's going to be fun trip, but I cannot guarantee that I will not be eaten by a bear. Please pray for me, dear friends.

2) WENDY
Hey! Wendy and I celebrated our one year anniversary back in July, on the 4th! I'm pretty happy things made it this far and am pleased to report it's been a good year with very few bumps, since both Wendy and I are pretty laid back and don't fuss about unimportant crap. So yeah, no complaints!

3) LIVING SIUTATION
Ok, this is where things take a dive. If you haven't read Heath's journal yet, I'll fill you in. A couple days ago, the house here was broken into and we had a bunch of crap stolen. Among the items were Heath's Xbox 360, his Nintendo Wii, his PS2, and a bunch of assorted games. All in all, probably pulling close to a couple thousand bucks worth of games and equipment. Apparently, this all happened because one of the side doors of the house was left unlocked from the last time we used it, which could have been months. It really sucks that all this stuff was taken, but it certainly could have been a lot worse, I will say that. Someone could have gotten hurt or even worse. We have no idea who did it and probably never will. He filed a police report but with no suspects, it's unlikely anything is going to come of it. So I guess we'll just have to start from scratch again and pick up another 360 and Wii down the road sometime and make sure the house is secured better. Him and I already changed the door knobs and locks, so it's a start.

4) GAMES
Well, now that the only system I ever really played, the Xbox 360, is gone as mentioned above, there's nothing really to play. PS3 is still going through their drought of games and I never really got into anything on the Wii to begin with. I suppose I could keep going on Titan in God of War 2 or something. Ah, I dunno, maybe I'll just take a break from the whole thing for a while. But at least it saves you guys from made up WWE storylines in Smackdown! vs. RAW 2007 being posted here, since my copy of SDvR2K7 was among the items taken. I'm sure a few people out there breathed a sigh of relief.

5) COMICS
Now, onto the good points. World War Hulk started back in June and so far, it's been kicking ass without stopping in the slightest. The story is about The Incredible Hulk returning from a war-torn planet where he was crowned king and was actually starting to do some good among the people until it was all fucked up by the people who exiled him there in the first place, Marvel's Illuminati (Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Charles Xavier, Blackbolt, Namor, and Doctor Strange). The ship they sent Hulk on accidentally exploded, destroying the planet, all the beings living on it, and Hulk's freshly impregnated queen as well. Hulk and his crew of gladiators who fought along side of him managed to escape and make their way to earth. He demands that the men who sent him there in the first place to surrender themselves, but when they don't... Well, let's just say the Marvel universe is pretty fucked at this point. Everyone the Hulk has encountered so far has gotten their ass kicked. So far, the list includes Wolverine, Thing, Blackbolt, the ENTIRE Fantastic Four (including Storm and Black Panther), Iron Man in some super Hulk-Buster armor, Ghost Rider, and a bunch of assorted X-Men. We're roughly halfway through the series at the moment and I really can't wait to see where it goes from here. I'm really hoping it doesn't end on a dumb note like, Hulk decides what he's doing is wrong and stops. That'd be ridiculously gay, if it did. Here's hoping World War Hulk goes out with a bang.

6) WRESTLING
I hate to say this, but wrestling is actually becoming a chore to watch. WWE is getting to be pretty unbearable since despite having probably more than half of their main-eventers on the injured list, they still refuse to make new stars that they desperately need. RAW is feeling like they have absolutely no idea where they're going with anything since the whole Vince "dying" angle ended, due to Benoit's crazy, family-murderin' ass and it certainly shows in their programming. Smackdown! is just content with Batista getting a million title shots and failing to deliver, thereby stretching that suspension of disbelief and the fact that The Great Khali is REALLY TALL... and not much else. ECW is actually getting a bit better now that Johnny Nitro changed his look, gimmick, and music to become "John Morrison". He's actually slowly stepping up his game and he could very well be in Cena/Triple H/Michael's league soon if things keep going the way they're going. Each episode usually has at least one good match, like the CM Punk/Elijah Burke/Tommy Dreamer match from this past week that was really awesome. ALso, as crazy and disgusting as it sounds, Big Daddy V (basically just a shirtless Viscera, which needs to be seen to be believed) is delivering as an unstoppable, jobber crushing monster. I'm sure his "big showdown" with Boogeyman is going to be terrible, but in the meantime, I'm content with seeing Big Daddy V Blackhole Slam one jobber onto two others and then pin all three of them at the same time. TNA continues to be meh since they seem to be doing the complete opposite of what they were trying to accomplish at the start. Actual talented wrestlers are put on the back burner for the illustrious Team 3D vs. Steiner Brothers feud that just never seems to end, Christian and his gang just seem to be hanging around without doing much of anything to further their character development, and their "no glass ceilings" rule was pretty much shit on when at the next PPV, they're having a match were one guy will EVERY TITLE IN THE COMPANY INCLUDING BOTH TAG TEAM TITLES. Ugh, September 14th can't get here soon enough.

7) SCHOOL
Welp, I'm all signed up for the first steps of the EMT program offered through LCC. Good news is that Jim also decided to take the class and will actually be taking some of the same classes as myself! It should be good to have someone to study with and make sure neither of us will fall behind, which is good since you need a 3.0 in them to even be eligible for the next required classes. I'm really excited and I hope it turns out well. The semester starts the 23rd, so wish Jim and I luck.

8) FITNESS
The Go Workout account that I had received last year ran out, so I now have officially registered my own account and have been doing pretty well keeping up on it. I've been gaining weight (although not as much as Jake LOL), but nothing unmanageable at this point. I know I need to cut a bunch of the crap I eat out of my diet, which I'm doing through baby steps. I've cut soda out of my diet almost entirely (except for a Coke during restaurant outings) and I never get fast food on my own accord anymore. Next, I need to start buying healthier alternatives to what I usually buy, despite them being a tad more pricey. Also, I've been prescribed more asthma medications to keep my breathing regular, which is definitely helping, I'm pleased to report.

9) REEL BIG FISH
Reel Big Fish, my favorite band, came out with a new album a few weeks ago, Monkeys For Nothin' and The Chimps For Free. It's very good and I suggest it to just about everybody. That's all.

10) FUTURE
I'm looking forward to school starting up again, to see if I can hang in the medical field. That's about it. I just hope World War Hulk keeps kicking ass and wrestling will eventually get better. Also, I'm looking forward to when the boxing gym opens back up to the public so I can get back into that. I really miss punching the shit out of things.

And there we have it, folks. The end of this short journey into Carlsburg. Have a safe weekend and don't forget to tip on your way out. Catch ya'll suckas in a couple months!

Hey guys. No Spotlight 10 or anything, mostly because there hasn't been much going on. Speaking of which, I think I may make the Spotlight 10 a bi-monthly thing since I have such a hard time trying to come up with anything for ten entries every month. It's weird because I'm never really doing anything, but at the same time I'm always busy. Hmmm... Peculiar...

Anyway, all I do have to report is this new picture I drew after a few months of not even bothering to dust off the old sketch pad. Unfortunately, the quality of the image suffered a bit when I had to shrink it down a bit (a lot, actually). Or it could have been the scanner since the damn thing hasn't been working right since my aunt's cat jumped on it and knocked it on the floor. Oh well. It still came out ok, I guess. It's a compilation of the Fantasy characters we've been playing in the Champions role-playing campaign, myself, Russ, Jake, Ed, Joy, Heath, and Chris. Well, I hope you enjoy it.

Holy shit. Chris Benoit died yesterday AND TOOK HIS WIFE AND SON WITH HIM. I guess it's being ruled as a double homicide and suicide, at the moment. That's pretty goddamn fucked up. Hard to believe one of my favorite wrestlers of all time is actually a child murderer as well.

Man, somebody took being drafted to ECW hard.

Subject:A WAYYY Long Overdue Spotlight Ten for May 2K7
Time:12:51 am
Current Mood:[mood icon] pleased
Whaddupp, lil' doggies? It's been almost 6 months since the last Spotlight Ten and it's been pretty barren around these parts. No, I didn't forget about Live Journal or anything. The only reason there hasn't been any updating is because, well, there really hasn't been too much going on that's really note-worthy to write about. Things have been going pretty well actually and I'd personally much rather have that than a hectic and non-stop life, honestly. But after all this time, I figured I owe it to everyone out there in Internet Land(tm) and give a rather boring and mundane update on the life of Carl "Balla Ass Nigga" Schafer.

1) LIVING SITUATION
Well, Russ moved out of the Lenartson household so that him and Michelle can raise their daughter, Charlotte, in this cold and unforgiving world. Actually, Russ himself is moved out, but a lot of his crap is still in his room. So essentially, it's like part of him is still floating around in the house, like some kind of undead poltergeist ready to get a shitload of Popeye's chicken and use up your toilet paper. Which I guess is comforting, in a way. But seriously, I am going to miss Russell living there because it was some pretty good times and I never got sick of him living there, like how it is with roommates at times. Ya'll know how it is. So hopefully things go well for him and his new-found family. We'll miss you, buddy.

2) WENDY
Wendy and I are still doing well, I'm pleased to say. Even when she calls me up and rambles about how much she hates me and wants me to get hit by a train and then have a plane crash onto the wreckage, she's still so lovable! Oh, that Wendy!

3) SCHOOL
I bet a few people didn't know about this one, huh? That's right, back in January, I enrolled in school again since I've been putting it off for like, 4 years or something. I decided to get certified as EMT, because (I hope) it's an exciting and rewarding career. I started out light with just a couple classes, just so I could back into the swing of things (which I was never even really good at in the first place). I did alright in the Anatomy & Physiology class I had, I guess. Not great, but not horrible either. It's going to be tough because I've never really had a mind for school and I literally hate studying so much that I will actually not learn anything. Hopefully, that will change since I got enrolled for the actual EMT classes I need in the Fall. We'll see what happens.

4) FITNESS/BOXING
While I was taking "credible" classes, I also took a boxing class through the college as well. I wanted to take such a class for a while now, but I didn't even know if we had a boxing gym here in Lansing. I saw the college was offering this class and so I was rather excited to sign up. Goddamn, it was tough work. Tons of jump roping, abdominal workouts, punching of the various heavy bags they had, and the push ups. Oh god, the push ups. In fact, it was so tiring, that on days that I didn't have class, I'd have to go to gym just so I further condition myself just so I could keep up! But it was totally worth it because the class was awesome and super fun. I really wanted to keep going during the summer, but the coach told me that they don't offer summer classes since their gym team goes out all over the state competing in various events, so they're never there. But in the fall, they're going to offer more advanced class more often during the week, which I will totally be all over. In the meantime, I'm back to the old routine of going to the gym every other day and doing my best to keep up on it all. Now if only I could get myself to eat better, damn it...

5) WORK
Not too much to report on the work front. Still same old stuff as before, for the most part. Still working rather erratic hours, mostly because of reasons beyond anyone's control, really. At least I rarely have to work out at that damned Giving Tree Farm these days. Ugh, me and sitting out in fields of dirt, digging up potatoes just don't mix.

6) GAMES
Since getting the X-Box 360 fixed, it's been pretty gravy. It's easily my favorite next gen system as the PS3 is just overhyped crap and the Wii holds absolutely no interest for me (I've actually never even played the thing since Heath put it out in the living room). Been playing steady rounds of WWE Smackdown! vs. RAW 2007, because watching Mofat's Crew and the Walls of Fame fight it out in the virtual world is far more entertaining than anything the WWE is really shoveling out right now. Also been pretty addicted to NBA Street Homecourt lately, which is really fun, despite the AI being really tricky to borderline cheating at times and your AI teammates being more hindering than useful sometimes. Also picked up Tony Hawk's Project 8 since Game Hits had it on the cheap. I complained that American Wasteland was way too easy and Neversoft must've heard me since Project 8 is actually pretty fucking hard. Now I'm a seasoned Tony Hawk player, but I look at some of the goals they ask you to complete and say, "You know, I bet I could prob--No." Stupid shit like jump off the ramp, do a 540 Triple Kickflip, Acid Drop, and then a Bennihana... with about 10 feet between the ramp and the ground (I bet only Russ understood any of that). Add in the Hero Pack updated Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Crackdown, and it's been a system that rarely ever gets shut down.

7) COMICS
Marvel's Civil War was pretty damn good (even if the ending was so-so). It's nice to see that the "major events" actually affect the universe and will have lasting effects. Of course, with that, came the death of Captain America (*sob*). I'm still not too happy about it, but I am actually happy to see that his death is being treated with dignity, from reading the Fallen Son series. The Avengers books are both really good as well with Ultron and Sentry have a knock down, drag out brawl in Mighty Avengers and Clint Barton (Hawkeye) being revealed as the new Ronin in New Avengers. I also started reading the new Nova series as well and it's good too. It feels a bit too similar to Green Lantern sometimes (even though the character is pretty just a rip off of said character), but it's still pretty good with moments like when he finds out about the New Warriors involvement in Civil War. I'm also curious to pick up the trades of the "Annihilation" event since it sounds interesting, from what I've read about in Nova. Speaking of events, I'm SUPER excited to read the upcoming "World War Hulk" crossover. Hulk is back on earth ready to beat the holy hell out of the Marvel universe for launching him out into space. And as we all know, a pissed off Hulk means someone's most likely going to get their ass kicked.

8) WRESTLING
I am going on the record to say this right now: I cannot fucking stand WWE anymore. I love wrestling, but I absolutely fucking hate WWE at the moment. Everything is the same old contrived shit that we have been seeing for months on end. Good, talented wrestlers are fed to glorified body builders who don't have an ounce of talent in their bodies. And of course, story lines that are so goddamn stupid that they insult the intelligence of wrestling fans everywhere, and THAT'S certainly saying something. But the company still makes tons of money from the kids covered head to toe in Cena merchandise, that's there's no point in longtime fans such as myself complaining since they're not going to listen anyway and just say "WE'RE NOT HERE TO IMPRESS THE INTERNET!". I wish TNA was a better option but even though it's marginally better, it still suffers from more dumb story lines and the feeling that they're trying to cram way too much into the 1 hour time slot. The only thing that I have going for me is Ring of Honor, which is practically impossible to catch up on a regular basis. Russ, Jim, and myself went to a ROH show in Detroit at the end of March and it was fucking awesome. Solid wrestling, entertaining matches and characters, a personable feeling between the crowd and performers in the ring, and simple yet believeable storylines. Another show is coming to Detroit in September and we're trying to get as many people to head with us again since (as of this posting) 2nd row tickets are still available. We should probably get our money together soon and gets these tickets while they're up for grabs. They're $35, so if you're interested, drop me a line and we'll get it set up ASAP.

9) SPIDER-MAN 3
Oh man, I've never been more disappointed in my life. I was looking SOOOO forward to it and it was seriously nowhere near as good as it could have been. The first two were incredible, but this one was just so blahhhhhhhh. I've seen it twice and ironically, I enjoyed it more the second time I saw it. The storyline felt very convoluted with three different villains, Peter's relationship with Mary Jane, and the whole black costume thing. It felt as if the film couldn't decide whether it wanted to make Sandman or Venom a focal point of the story since both are given ample time to develop, but neither feels very fleshed out. Not too mention, some of the dialog ranges from cheesy to laughably bad (all I need to say is the "butler scene" and that pretty much sums it up right there). On the other hand though, what I did like about it was the action scenes were still sweet and the part of the story where Peter embraced the black costume, giving into his rage and frustration were well done. Not to mention, the best part, where he's dancing down the street and all the girls around him are like "Ewww..." and the guys are like "wtf?". But yeah, that part where he's dancing in the jazz club is still fucking retarded.

10) FUTURE
Things are going pretty well for the time being, so I have no complaints. Summer's coming up, so hopefully, there's going to be more fun coming down the road. If not, well, I'm happy with just sitting in front of the 360 and playing until my eyes bleed out of my head.

Well, that's about it for the long overdue and much requested first Spotlight 10 for 2007, people. Hopefully the next one won't be that far off. But I have a feeling that even if I did update this thing every six months or whatever, I'd still be telling you guys the same thing each time. Oh well. See ya in 30!

Hey there, loyal crew! It's certainally been a while since the last time we've seen a Spotlight 10 around these parts, huh? Well, you see, it's probably going to be a little bit longer until we see one again. You may ask, "But why, Carl? You stated the topic of this post is December's Spotlight 10! You have burgled me out of an opportunity to read the most in-depth and sense-making Spotlight 10 available on the Internets!". Whoa, now hold your horses, kids. It IS a Spotlight 10, but it's a little different. Yes, this post is going to be the Spotlight 10 of things YOU can buy ME for the upcoming Christmas season! Read on to see what you can buy me instead of just wasting your money on cheap booze and loose women and/or men:

1) Microsoft Zune 30 GB Digital Media Player
I'll admit: I am totally out of the loop when it comes to being a card-carrying member of the iPod club. It seems like everyone in my age brackets is equipped with one of these damn things except me! Since iPods cost somewhere around $400 a piece, I ESPECIALLY have no fucking clue as to how kids my age can even afford this shit. Well, now it's your chance to get me out of the dark and make one of the cool kids. It's not an iPod, but in honestly, everything that I've read about the Zune and feedback I've heard from other people that have them, it's more my speed anyway. I like the idea of MP3s and video on the go and I especially like the sound of being able to connect with other Zune users and check out what they got on theirs. And hey, it's $150 cheaper than an iPod too. Hook me up!

2) WWE Cactus Jack retro shirt
If the Zune is still far more than you're willing to spend on me, you goddamn cheapskate, how about this? It's the shirt that was made famous by Mick Foley's Cactus Jack persona. Affectionately known as the "Wanted shirt", I think it's one of the best designed wrestling shirts ever. Normally, one is usually "embarassed" about wearing wrestling merchandise in public, but not this fella. I'll wear a white shirt with a half naked Dusty Rhodes plastered across the front if it, so Cactus Jack's would be no problem. Plus, people usually have such great respect for Mick Foley, that it's usually guaranteed to get props more than guffaws.

3) The Marvel Encyclopedia
I am totally gay for comic book history. I actually took a look at this book when I was at the local Barnes & Noble not too long ago and I was really impressed with it. The book featured thousands of characters and is probably the most complete collection of Marvel universe history this side of the Official Handbooks to the Marvel Universe back in the 80's. On a related note...

4) The DC Comics Encyclopedia
More opportunity to spread more comic book "joy" (more like useless comic boook trivia and crap), but from the opposite side of the spectrum. DC's history is just as rich as Marvel's, but slightly more convoluted. Ok, A LOT more convoluted. But hey, we still need to make sense of that shit, right?! So why not help out a noble cause and pick this up for your favorite GB. And hey, I see that Amazon is running a special where you can pick this AND the Marvel one up for a nice price...

5) See No Evil DVD
Oh Kane-chan. Who WON'T you gut with a giant hook?! See No Evil was actually a decent surprise and actually wasn't completely shitty. The movie is just about WWE Superstar Kane running around with a giant hook connected to a chain and killing people in hilariously awesome ways. But it doesn't need to be anything more than that, really. Buy it for me so we can laugh about someone taking an axe to face together. Plus, it'll keep it us occupied until The Marine comes out on DVD. HUSTLE LOYALITY RESPECT BACK OFF JACK OFF THEY GOT A HOSTAGE IT'S MY WIFE RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAPADOOOOOOOO!

6) Marvel Icons Captain America Bust
Everyone knows how much I love Captain America. It's practically unparalleled. Borderline disturbing, really. But despite that I am in the closet gay for Mr. Steve Rogers, I don't own a statue, let alone a bust of my favorite character. Well, that can fix right here!!!... In February 2007, anyway. This bust isn't out yet, but goddamn it sure does look sweet, doesn't it?

7) Catpain America Shield Scaled Replica
In the meantime however, this is available this month, sometime in December. It's a 1:16 scale of the original shield that Captain America used back in "The Big One", World War 2 to punch Hilter in the face a few times. It's such a cool piece of work and I would love to have it proudly on display anywhere in my shrine. Uh, room, I mean. Yeah......

8) Ninja Gaiden Ryu Hayabusa Vinyl Statue
BUY ME BIG PIECES OF STONE OR PLASTIC THAT SIT AROUND AND DO NOTHING! This was another one that caught my eye seeing it in ToyFare a few months back. Honestly, I had sort of forgotten about it, but looking for that Captain America statue a couple entries ago made me remember it. It's apparently out of stock as of now, but don't let that stop you from going to great lengths to buy my favor! It actually does look really great and Ninja Gaiden is still one of the best games and is still worth buying a regular X-Box for. Support your love for the 'Box, as well as ninja in general, and purchase this statue.

9) Ron Simmons DAMN shirt
No, it's not Ron Simmons' damned shirt. It's the Ron Simmons DAMN! shirt! As recently seen on episodes of WWE RAW, the shirt displays the simple, yet elegant, catchphrase across the front. Everybody secretly wishes to have a shirt that displays what they are thinking and with this shirt, you can use it to convey your thoughts whether you're looking at the price tag of the Playstation 3 or at the strip club. And truly, isn't that all we really want?

10) nWo World Heavyweight Title Belt
A couple years ago, Jake got me a replica WWE title belt. I loved it, but it has since been chewed up by my mangy mutt, Hurricane. A good replacement however is this, a cheap replica of the WCW World Heavyweight title belt that was captured by Hollywood Hogan and spray painted with the nWo logo on it. I just think it's looks TOOOO SWEEEEEEET (haw!) and would like to proudly display it where the old WWE title had resided.

And so that's it! Wanna win my favor? Wanna hear me scream like a woman with glee? Wanna have me make out with you for 2 full minutes (but still no eye contact)? Then buy me these things! Christmas is roughly three weeks away, as of this posting. So hop to it! Max out that credit card! It will be GREATLY appreciated.

Hopefully soon we'll have like, you know, a REAL update coming down the pipe. But probably not.

TEN random things about me:
1. I change my mind on what I want to do with my life on practically a daily basis.
2. Captain America is by far, my favorite comic book character.
3. I really do think guys like CM Punk are the future of the business.
4. I have almost every Marvel Legends action figure (excluding variants), which equals well over 100+ figures from that line alone.
5. I go to bed earlier and earlier these days, mostly because I just can't see a reason for staying up past midnight anymore.
6. I visit the same like, 5 websites on the Internet over and over again through out the day.
7. Aside from having a drink every once in a while, I'm pretty straight edge.
8. I hardly ever eat fast food anymore.
9. I've came close to dying a handful of times when I was really young due to complications from asthma. I was actually expected to die in the hospital one night when I was in 5th grade.
10. My dream is to someday be a wrestler, although I know that can't happen due to my body's physical limitations.

NINE ways to win my heart:
1. Accepting what my interests are and not criticizing me about it.
2. Don't be offended when I use the term "gay" as an insult.
3. Letting me just hang out with my friends by myself every once in a while.
4. Realize that you're not always right. (God, this one is so important.) [THANK YOU, RUSSELL!]
5. Not getting upset/offended at my sense of humor and/or bad jokes.
6. Knowing there's a much bigger world out there than the "drama" that's going on in your life.
7. knowing that I like, practically never have any money and being ok with it lol
8. Being able to tell me what Iron Fist's real name is.
9. YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HATE JEFF HARDY

EIGHT things I want to do before I die:
1. Go to E3, which Matt and I did back in 2001.
2. Go to Wrestlemania. Hey, I bought tickets last week!
3. Errrrrr... I dunno. Finish school?
4. Uh, get a decent job?
5. Umm, visit another continent?
6. Punch Paris Hilton in the face.
7. Uh, beat Ninja Gaiden on Very Hard.
8. See Spider-Man 3? Fuck, I have no idea.

SEVEN things I believe:
1. That karma actually does exist.
2. There's ALWAYS two sides to every argument or problem.
3. That the government is actually looking out for our best interests and isn't out to just screw us and take all our money.
4. John Cena doesn't suck, it's just the bookers are force feeding his shtick to the 12 year olds watching at home.
5. Mayonnaise is so utterly goddamn disgusting and I have no idea why people eat it.
6. People these days are so utterly crazy or over-dramatic because they can't see past themselves and think their lives are just so fucking terrible. In reality, their lives are fine and there are people who are way worse off who manage to stick it through and make it through the day.
7. MTV is entirely worthless these days.

SIX things that get me mad (or annoyed/paranoid/frustrated):
1. When you're waiting in line behind someone at the grocery store and they wait until everything is scanned and bagged before they pull out their coupons and/or checkbook to write a check. You couldn't have done all that shit while he scanning all of your shit?!
2. People who refuse to admit fault about something and place all of the blame squarely on something/someone else.
3. People who won't LET SOMETHING GO. [thx again Russell]
4. Our society's need to be overly sensitive about something (like, gay marriage, for instance) even though it has nothing to do with them.
5. How Degeneration-X has constantly squashed talented individuals for the better part of almost 6 months now.
6. People who make a huge fucking deal over literally nothing.

FIVE things I'm afraid of:
1. Never figuring out what I want to do.
2. That Hurricane will chew up literally everything I own. :v:
3. Wild animals. Who knows what those things have?!
4. That I'll be stuck trying to take care of this driver license shit forever.
5. That I'll lose my job because of Number 4 up there.

FOUR of my fave items in my room:
1. My figures. I'll just lump them all into one category.
2. Ice-Bat.
3. COMPUTER.
4. My Captain America: Winter Soldier hardcover trade. One of the best comic stores in years and possibly the best Captain America story ever written.

THREE things I do everyday:
1. Go on The Internet.
2. Walk Hurricane multiples times a day.
3. Think about wrestling like, 5746767 times a day.

TWO things I need to do right now:
1. Finish this.
2. Go to work for a staff meeting in like, 5 minutes.

ONE person I want to see right now:
1. Wendy. HI WENDY! *waves*

iLos Todos Escuchame! You may have noticed there hasn't been any updates around these parts since the LAST Spotlight 10. Well, to be quite honest, there hasn't really been much going on around these parts. Nothing noteworthy, anyway. That's part of the reason why this update isn't exactly prompt either. I thought maybe if I sat around for a few days and waiting, maybe something CRAZY would happen. I should know better by now.

1) General Life
As I stated, nothing really too exciting has really been going, not that that's a bad thing. Things are going quite well actually. I honestly don't really have any complaints, aside from maybe a lack of funds that pretty much keep me from doing fun things... but hell, it's not like I have the time to do them anyway. Plus, I think I'll probably be complaining about a lack of money from now until the end of time. Oh well, let's keep this ball rolling.

2) Work
Good news is I am most likely not going to be fired. Yay~! Working my ass retarded has seemed to paid off quite well. Also, it's nice having a semi-regular schedule. These days, I'm working mostly Thursday through Monday, usually afternoon shifts, but sometimes a morning or overnight gets thrown into the mix. Also, I must say that I do appreciate everything Sam has done for me. She's really looked out for me there and I relly don't think I would have lasted nearly as long as I have with her help. Oh yeah, also, my 3 month review is coming up here pretty soon (a month and a half late). I'll probably update in a few days to let everyone else know the results of that, since I probably won't have anything else to write about.

3) Wendy
I'm pleased to say everything is going quite well between I and this little chica. Not really much else to say since when we get together we just chillax and watch some Six Feet Under on DVD. We unfortunately do not watch wrestling together and that makes me a sad Spirit squad groupie. :-(

4) Living Siutation
This is also still going quite well. Although I rarely ever do see Russ and Heath because of my schedule. The whole working from 3PM to 11PM means that I don't see them during the day because Heath is at work and Russ literally sleeps all day like a true Mexican. There han't been any crazy blowups or anything like that since everyone just kind of minds their business. Going into the third month in and I still don't have any complaints. ^___^

5) Friends
Still not really getting to see alot of people on a regular basis. I see Russ and Heath the most (duh) and Jim every couple days when we go to the gym together, but that's about it. Although not too long ago, a bunch of people met up at Jimmy Poma's place for a good ol' fashioned box social. It was fun. Got to see a bunch of people like Phil and Turk and Jimmy Poma and such. Got to see Jake as well! Crazy kid. I know he's going through a lot right now and it was nice seeing that crazy fuck again. Hi Jake! EDIT: Yeah, I do feel pretty retarded for forgetting this, but yes. As it was so eloquently stated, I did have a good time watching Lost with Matt. He's another one I rarely get to see much of these days since we work, like, ttoally opposite schedules and have different days off during the week. Really sucks, but hey, our bills aren't paying themselves. Sorry for not putting you "in". It was just as much of a surpise to me after it was brought to my attention. :-)

6) Hurricane
Crazy fucking dog almost killed himself a few days ago! I was driving through East Lansing to pick up something from my work's head office in Okemos and I had him in the car with me because I was immediately going to take him to my parents' house. Well, we were stopped at the stoplight on Grand River and Park Way Road when the little bugger tried to JUMP OUT THE WINDOW. His front feet were already on the outside and his hindlegs were up on the edge of the window, ready to jump out. So I grabbed his little doggie ass (literally) and yanked him back inside. Crazy dog! Good news though, tomorrow he is officially done with his mite dipping appointments and then we can think about chopping his balls off. Well, ok. Maybe that's not exactly good news for him.

7) Wrestling
RAW and Smackdown! have been ok lately and TNA has just been pretty much more of the same since there aren't really any exciting feuds going on there, but ECW has been pretty solid week in and week out. The new talent they got like CM Punk and Kevin Thorn have been rocking the house and returning guys like Rene Dupree, Hardcore Holly, and Matt Striker fit in quite well there. Now, granted, it's FAR from the ECW days of yore, but it's still a solid product with entertaining matches each week. Last week's Test and Mike Knox vs. Sabu and RVD was one of the best matches on free WWE TV I've seen in quite a while. August left us with some bad news, however. Kurt Angle was given his leave from the company when he finally decided, "Hey, taking some time off might not be a bad thing since my wife is leaving me and I can barely walk". I'll miss Kurt so much because he could pull a great out of his ass with practically anybody. I heard that there's talk of him going to TNA once the 90 days no-compete clause is up, but I hope he doesn't. As much as I would love to see him KILL Jeff Jarrett and take on Samoa Joe, the man really needs to let his body heal and recover. I hope he doesn't put his body on the line and get a career or life ending injury because he couldn't get rid of "the itch". Also, Jeff Hardy returned to RAW as well. Fuck that doped-up, Woolite wearing faggot. That's all I got to say about that.

8) Fitness
Jim and myself go to the gym every couple days and it's been going very well. Jim is showing some improvement and you can like, kind of see some differences in me. I guess. Anyway, I've been moving up steadily in both weight and reps as the weeks go on. It's a good feeling. Jim and I get up pretty early and meet there at 8:00AM so we can get our routine in before he has to be to work. I've got to say, I love it. It's really fun and I look forward to it. I don't know if Jim feels the same way, however. :-P Word on the street is that Jake is actually looking to get into the swing of things too. But Jim was telling me that he wants to do more of his stuff during the evening hours, so I probably won't see much of him. Oh well, maybe he'll join Jim and I during the morning sometime and so the three of us can hang. That'd be pretty cool. 8-)

9) Lost
Just wanted to say that I FINALLY saw the season 2 finale of Lost. Goddamn, I cannot wait for Season 3. Best fucking show on television, I tell you what.

10) Future
Well, evertyhing is going quite well and I have no complaints. The only thing I'm really looking forward to is that meeting at work in the next few days. But aside from that, it's been pretty quiet around these parts without much to stir the pot. And that's the way I like it, really.

Admittedly, it was kind of hard trying to come up with 10 things to write about this month. Let's see what happens for the rest of September! See ya soon, kiddos!

Ok, so we're back, super late again as always. I just happen to be awake here at 4:30 in the morning and so I figured this would be a good as a time as any to make my monthly and juicy Live Journal posting. It's time for another Spotlight 10 this month, but honestly, it's probably going to be a little tough since I haven't really been doing much lately. Oh yeah, I had a birthday, though. Maybe that counts for something. *shrugs*

1) GENERAL LIFE
As I just stated, I just had my birthday this past Monday. I turned a glorious 24 years old. It was alright, even though I didn't really do anything super exciting. That's alright though, because I just don't really have the energy to do half the crap I used to anymore. Geez, maybe I am starting to get super old. I got lots of cards and thankfully some cash, which I am totally grateful for. It was weird because a couple days ago, I went out to the Meridian Mall since I have only been out there like once since I got back to Michigan a few months and all the surrounding stores (Toys R US, Target, etc.) and I seriously had such a hard time finding anything I wanted. No toys, no movies, no games or anything. I ended up just spending what I had on clothes and stuff, which is odd for me. Could this be a step in a new direction?

2) WORK
Honestly, work has been stressing me out a little bit. I recently heard some rumblings that my job performance is in question and for the life of me, I have no idea why. I thought I was doing everything right and doing what I needed to and what was asked of me. The reason I hear is because I "fail to take initiative", which I have no idea what they want me to do to "take initiative" since anytime I have, I've been reprimanded. So it's getting to the point where I have no idea what's being asked of me since I work as hard as I can and constantly cover shifts at the last moment since I have a flexible schedule but it's still not good enough, apparently. I have no idea what's going to happen, so hopefully I'll be able to tell everyone "everything turned out fine" next month.

3) WENDY
I've been hanging out with Wendy a lot lately. I really like her because she's pretty much everything I've been looking for in a girl for quite some time. Don't really know what else to say other than I hope she sticks around these parts for quite a while. :)

4) HURRICANE
My puppy is doing better. I think. As far as his dipping and stuff, he's doing much better now. His hair is growing back and so he's looking quite good. But earlier last week, Heath was telling me that Hurricane passed a whole load of roundworms from his butt. So when I got home from work, I took him into the vet with a stool sample but the result came back negative. Strange, but ok. They gave me the medicine anyway, so I gave him the first dose that day and I have to give him the second dose on the 18th of this month. He hasn't passed anymore since then, so I'd like to think he's doing alright. Update on his condition next month.

5) GAMES
A few really good demos for the 360 have been up on X-Box Live recently. 99 Nights and Dead Rising both showcase the power of the 360 extremely well and are both fucking awesome as hell to play. 99 Nights is a simple hack and slash, not unlike Dynasty Warriors, but it gets pretty crazy when there's more than 100+ characters on the screen at the same time. Just the amount of CARNAGE~! you cause is just so boner-inducing. I really can't wait for the full game of that. Dead Rising is totally sweet as well. You play as a photographer trying to survive in a mall infested with zombies. I'm pretty sure there's other locations as well, but in the demo, it's just the mall, but hell, that's more than enough to showcase the game's strengths. You pick up a variety of weapons, anything from guns and axes to skates board and golf balls, and use them to dispatch of the zombies in often comical manners. The ability to change clothes and wear all kinds of silly gear is really cool too. Dead Rising is out this week, so I really can't wait until we get our hands on that here at the house. Saint's Row also went up this week on Live. I played the demo and just as I thought, it's just another run of the mill GTA clone. Being able to fully make your character is a nice touch, I guess, but it doesn't overcome the fact that it's just the same crime simulator any frat boy/ghetto thug/upper class white teenage thug has been playing for last what feels like million years.

6) FITNESS
I'm pleased to announce that since Jim helped me with getting a membership to the gym, I am back on a regular gym schedule again! Yay! For my birthday, Jim got me a membership to Go Workout and I've been going on a regular basis, even if it's just by myself. I try and go with Jim whenever possible, but thanks to our screwy schedules, it doesn't always happen. When I'm with Jim, we lift weights. But when I'm by myself, I just do 30 minutes on the treadmill instead. I'm glad to get on a routine again and currently, I go every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I was thinking about going on Tuesday and Thursday just to do only cardio, but they say the rest between sessions is the most important part since it gives your body time to heal and start developing. So I'll probably just stick to those three days for now. Maybe within a couple months of a regular routine, we'll actually start to see results. :o

7) LIVING SITUATION
Still living here at Heath's with him and Russ. I haven't had any complaints thus far. I really enjoy living here and hopefully, I'm not a bad roommate either. Nothing really new to report or anything, just that everything goin' alright.

8) WRESTLING
Man, ugh. Wrestling. The thing that I love so much has been soooooooo hit or miss and totally up or down lately. RAW just been so blah with the never ending feud of DX vs. the McMahons, while funny, needs to go somewhere quick besides DX literally kicking Vince and Shane's ass every week. Cena vs. Edge has been fucking done to death and Carlito/Shelton/Nitro for IC title is getting to the point of being played out now (although the matches are usually pretty good). Why not mix things up by adding Charlie Haas or Umaga or anybody else to the mix? Smackdown! has been slowly getting a little better as the weeks go on. Booker T deserved the title, so I'm glad to see him win it. Batista is back and kicking a whole lot of ass, which is exactly how his character should be developing. Finlay still kicks ass and putting the US Title on him was a good decision. ECW has been alright too, actually. Big Show is putting on some good matches as the champ and guys like CM Punk and Kevin Thorn are finally making their ECW debut, along with returning stars like Test and Rene Dupree. TNA is getting good again with Samoa Joe being pushed out of the X-Division and into the upper card and entertaining segments like Eric Young begging not to be fired every week and, dare I say it, Kevin Nash training for the X-Division. I think on a whole, things are on the way up, but they're not quite there yet.

9) MUSIC
I recently picked up Breaking Benjamin's latest CD and I must say that I am rather happy with it. I've been a fan of the band for quite a while and so when I saw their new CD dropped this week, I was pleasantly surprised. And with their new single on the radio, "When you Were Young", I can't wait for The Killers new CD either. "When You Were Young" reminds me of stuff from the 80's, especially groups like The Cars. They've always had a unique sound that looks to be carrying over their new CD as well. I've been looking for new Trance stuff, but I guess it's just a slow time for new dance music or something. Oh well.

10) FUTURE
Well, all I can say for the future is... I hope I don't get fired! That would really throw a wrench into everything I've been trying to accomplish these last few months. I'm working my ass off, trying to be on top of everything, and be on my game as much as possible, so hopefully it'll pay off in the end. We'll have to see.

So that's about it, really. Finding 10 things to write about was kind of difficult this month since admittedly, there is far less going on in my life than I'm letting on. Or maybe you figured that out already. The truth is, I work often at such random hours (especially on weekends) that I don't really get a chance to see much of anyone lately or get to go out and do fun stuff since I'm usually pretty broke all the time. But that's alright since I'd rather have a stagnant social life than one that's in absolute shambles. Alright gang, we'll see about trying to get the next Spotlight 10 up around the BEGINNING of the month next time! See you then!
